Cover design chosen for Speed Graphics and Steam 1957! (FIREBOX CHAT #4)

September 24, 2017

Progress on Speed Graphics and Steam 1957!

I have acquired, or know where to acquire, all available pictures for this upcoming volume. At the moment, I am poring over 424 candidates to choose the best possible images.

The finalist in the cover design contest for the upcoming book has been chosen. I’m working with the artist over the next few days to finalize the design.

Book orders

If you are interested in stocking up on titles as gifts for friends or family members—or as leisurely reading for yourself as winter approaches, please navigate to our various book pages.

All copies of the Niagara book spoken for

Thanks to all who spoke up for a copy of Steam to the Niagara Frontier. It worked out perfectly that everyone who wanted one, got one.

Attention S scale modellers

I’m finishing up construction of a kit for a Central of Georgia ventilated boxcar. Somewhere along the way, I lost the supplied brake wheel. Any S scale modellers have a spare brake wheel? Please email me. The one in question is on a vertical brake staff.

P.S.—Please share the link to this post with any friend interested in steam railway operations in Ontario during the 1950s!
