This past Thursday, we took delivery of 976 copies of Steam Scenes of Northern Ontario from Ampersand Printing:
We’re very pleased with the picture reproduction in Steam Scenes of Northern Ontario. This is due to a combination of Jim Brown’s excellent photo finishing and the superior paper—FSC 80 lb. Endurance Gloss Text (we spare no expense on printing on the best stock available):
I’ve been working through the weekend signing everyone’s copies as requested:
Meanwhile, sons Spencer and Duncan have been carefully packaging each consignment:
I have to mention a special reader—Jim Musgrove. Here’s Mary-Jo signing his book:
Jim’s been buying from us for 20 years, every volume. Some years ago, he asked that all four family members sign each copy we ship to him:
If you purchased one or more copies of Steam Scenes of Northern Ontario separately (with or without any previous titles), your order is ready to go out the door this week by letter mail. Here are a few of them waiting for the contracted pickup tomorrow:
Meanwhile, the Steam in Northern Ontario hardcover is en route to the bindery—or already there. As this is a short print run, we expect to take delivery of this volume by the end of this week.
Beginning the week of December 3, we will package and ship all pre-ordered copies of Steam in Northern Ontario (which will include a complimentary copy of Steam Scenes of Northern Ontario for each).
Most of the print runs for the two Northern Ontario books have been spoken for, but a few select retailers will stock copies of these books as early as this week. While supplies last, you can still order from us direct at the same link above. You can download 16-page samples of these books at either of these links:

After our pre-orders have been shipped, and after filling only preliminary dealer orders, our stock on the new books will have been reduced to fewer than 300 copies of Steam Scenes of Northern Ontario and fewer than 200 copies of Steam in Northern Ontario.
A reminder that our four earliest railway hardcovers in stock (Steam at Allandale, Steam Scenes of Allandale, Steam Echoes of Hamilton and Steam Memories of Lindsay) will revert to their original prices of $69.95 in five days time. Until 11:59 p.m. EST this Friday, November 30, you can acquire any of these for $49.95. The link to the Canadian Branchline book page is:

And, we’ve extended another offer to all—any order for books totaling more than $100 we will ship free of charge until December 31st.
