Steam at Allandale video trailer

March 28, 2023

Back in January 1997, I began working on my first book. This would become the 192-page hardcover Steam at Allandale. In those days, dozens of men who had worked in the steam era, even back to the 1930s, were available to provide me with accurate information concerning railway operations on the CNR's Allandale Division. That's the kind of background which is rarely written down. Fortunately, in this case it was. The entire story crystallized with the release of Steam at Allandale in September 1998.

We sold out the print run of Steam at Allandale after a couple of years. Nine years later, this initial title was only one of two we ever reprinted (Steam in Northern Ontario being the other). Of the second printing, we have about 50 copies remaining (and there won't be a third printing!).

I invite you to watch this short video trailer, which provides an overview for this first book I ever wrote. The formula set in that book, which earned a Gold Award from the International Association of Printing House Craftsman, prevailed for every other book in this series.
