What pictures would you like to see in our 2020 wall calendar?

October 29, 2019

I’d like your help in choosing images for our Canadian Branchline 2020 wall calendar

For the past few days, I’ve amassed a pool of 329 pictures from which to draw 13 for our calendar (one for each month of the year, plus January 2021). But before making selections from the broad range of subjects featured in these images, I’d like to get your personal opinion on what you’d like to see.

By way of illustration, I’ve selected eight pictures from the pool of 329

These are purely random picks, generated by a random number generator. They are meant to show you the breadth of selections available, and to help you pinpoint what you’re most looking for.

In terms of letting me know what you want...

Please describe three factors—railway (e.g. CNR, CPR, ONR, etc.), general locale, subject.

Here are the eight examples, any of which may appear in the calendar

This February 22, 1959 images of locomotives at Stratford by Jim Shaughnessy could be described as—CNR steam at a Stratford Division engine terminal.

This Philip Hastings shot at Blackwater on May 31, 1957 could be—CNR Lindsay branchline scene with railway men at work.

This Ron Cooper picture of southbound train 44 at Gravenhurst—CNR diesel passenger train, Allandale Division.

An August 1959 image by Herb Harwood at McAdam, NB—CPR steam at engine terminal in the Maritimes.

Elmer Treloar's shot at Windsor of Northern 6222 on February 6, 1954—CNR big steam on passenger train, London Division.

Fred Sankoff's photo (Keith Sirman collection) of Mikado 3730 at Bayview on March 17, 1956—CNR steam on mainline freight.

Ten Wheeler 1366 at Allandale in the summer of 1952—CNR branchline steam on way freight (Allandale Division if more specific).

Don Wood's view of CPR Ten Wheeler 1004 leaving Gorrie—CPR branchline steam in Ontario.

You get the idea!
