King's Highways & Steam Trains vol. 1 video trailer

June 01, 2023

Less than a year after the print release of Steam at Washago, I followed with the King's Highways & Steam Trains vol. 1 softcover, in October 2016. What we have in this book are the Angus and Amanda characters from The Secret of the Old Swing Bridge and The King's Puzzle, now in their early twenties.

In retrospect, my intention with King's Highways & Steam Trains vol. 1 was to reach younger audiences, and share with them the magic of the Canadian railway steam era. Naturally, Angus and Amanda travel back in time and experience that era firsthand. Their vehicle for time travel is a 1956 Ford Mainline (in Bermuda Blue), combined with the wizardy of "Old Eddie" at the former White Rose service station in Washago, Ontario.

There are quite a number of videos on the King's Highways & Steam Trains vol. 1 page, which I invite you to watch (click on the book title anywhere in this post to go there). But perhaps the best one to start with is the shortest one. This gives you a brief overview of the book:
