We have a contest winner and SGS1959! flyers in the mail

For the past few weeks, I have been choreographing the sequences of Herb Harwood photographs for Speed Graphics and Steam 1959! The first couple of dozen spreads in the book, covering a portion of the CPR’s Minto Subdivision (where the famed 4-4-0s operated) have been roughed in.

We have chosen a winner for the CPR steam collector’s plates, as announced during our online pre-launch for Speed Graphics and Steam 1959! The lucky name we drew is Christopher—who we will be in touch with soon!

This week, we will begin distributing print flyers to any readers who did not take advantage of our online pre-publication offer last month. If you have ordered any publication from us in 2019, 2020 or 2021 (but not this next issue), you will get a couple of these in the mail.

Further, our good friends at Bytown Railway Society will enclose a flyer with their next mailing of Branchline magazine toward the end of July. The same flyer is available on our website (click any of the links for Speed Graphics and Steam 1959! in this broadcast to go there, and look for the PDF link).

The deadline for mail pre-orders of Speed Graphics and Steam 1959! is August 31, 2021. The all-inclusive price (whether for Canadian or foreign orders) is the same as that offered during the online launch, with the proviso of payment by cheque/check or e-transfer.
