Steam Scenes of Allandale video trailer

April 18, 2023

Aside from a few leftover copies, my first book entitled Steam at Allandale sold out in 2001. For six years, we fielded requests for a reprint. Finally, in January 2007 I conceded to the first of only two reprints I'd ever do. This re-issue of Steam at Allandale came on the heels of Steam in Northern Ontario. Now firmly re-focusing on the CNR's Northern Ontario District, I put together Steam Scenes of Allandale, which was released in August 2007.

Steam Scenes of Allandale is a jam-packed 375-photo, 192-page hardcover supplement to the predecessor Steam at Allandale. The two books cover the same secondary mainlines and branchlines of the Northern Ontario District. They are meant to go together, as the first issue offers the narrative tying the whole operation together, while the second issue drills deeper into specifics of operations (depicted in photographs) either side of the June 25, 1954 "day-in-the-life" approach.

I invite you to watch this short video trailer, which provides an overview for this hardcover photo supplement:
