SGS1958v3 distribution is complete

Speed Graphics and Steam 1958! vol. 3 distribution is complete!

We appreciate the patience of all who pre-purchased a copy of Speed Graphics and Steam 1958! vol. 3

The book distribution process—done by hand, with every book inspected, signed and carefully packaged in a damage-resistant mailer—has finished. This has been a four-week campaign which began a few days before Christmas.

As mentioned in a previous broadcast, we contracted for a short print run on this volume—700 copies, to be exact. Here’s the original consignment from the book bindery:

And after distributing all of our individual pre-orders, plus retail orders, plus complimentary issues—we now have only 49 copies remaining.

And here’s our second-last consignment to our Canada Post contract pickup driver:

Anyone who has ordered a copy of Speed Graphics and Steam 1958! vol. 3 which we have already shipped—or who speaks for one of our few remaining copies—receives an automated email from Canada Post advising of shipment, along with one from PayPal (if you ordered that way).

If you reside in Canada, your email will contain tracking info so you can follow the progress of your package. If your address is in the US, you will receive notice that your package has been sent, but no tracking info unless your package contains two or more hardcover books. Anything less than 2 kg shipped to the States goes by "Small Packet Air", does not have a tracking option, and usually takes 1-3 weeks to arrive.

Concerning our 2021 Canadian Branchline wall calendar...

We have exactly 23 copies remaining. This one is filled with 13 frameable colour images of 1950s railway scenes from Ontario and Quebec:

Thank you for all the notes!

Many of you—dozens in fact—have sent wonderful emails acknowledging receipt of your book, and how much you are enjoying it. Thank you to all! In time, I will try to respond individually to everyone.

For those wondering what’s next...

I have been selecting colour images of CNR and CPR steam and diesel (with the occasional smaller road as well) for the second volume in the Encounters series. This will feature photography by Jim Guerin and will be a companion to Steam Encounters at Montreal. Look for a formal announcement of that project in the next few days!
