Update on prices and quantities
So we're three days from Christmas and the book stocks are getting alarmingly low. The data is below, but first a few words of introduction.
Ian, what's in shortest supply?
Three books, Speed Graphics and Steam 1959!, Speed Graphics and Steam 1958! vol. 2 and Steam at Washago, are down to a single copy. Another pair, Steam Encounters at Montreal vol. 2 and Steam Scenes of Northern Ontario, are down to two copies.
Our postal strike ended a few days ago, and I had been holding a small number of each volume in reserve for the orders that are coming in the mail system. However, the online orders for both Speed Graphics and Steam 1959! and Steam Echoes of Hamilton exhausted the copies available for online orders—so I had to dig into the copies reserved for the mail orders. Even as such, the Speed Graphics and Steam 1959! issue is down to a single volume and Steam Echoes of Hamilton is down to only five.
What about prices and shipping times?
Of the 17 remaining titles, about half of them have stayed at the same price as last week, and about half of them have risen in price. Whatever remains I will tally for next Sunday's update.
In the meantime, I have more than 30 orders of multiple books to package and ship out. I'm a one-man show here, so please give me a bit of time on this. I anticipate it will take about a week to get those books into the system, let alone the deluge of orders that will come today and for the week to come.
You mentioned something about Substack last week...
Thank you to a few readers who have jumped in and signed up for paid subscriptions to my Canadian Branchline Substack publication already! I have not yet set up a formal thank-you note for the paying subscribers, but I will get to that this week.
As mentioned last week, early in January I will begin uploading content to the Canadian Branchline Substack publication and the other publications I have set up there. Very early in the going, there will be a new 1950s steam movie offered to paying subscribers on the Canadian Branchline publication. I will give you much more in the way of details for that in the next week or two.
Ordering alternatives aside from PayPal
As usual, for any Canadian readers wishing to remit funds by Interact e-transfer, kindly use the weekly posted prices as a worksheet and contact me (by email) for a shipping quote. Then we’ll generate a total for monies owed (with GST) and you can remit the funds while I package your publications for shipment.
For those readers wishing to remit funds by cheque/check, kindly contact me by email, indicating the titles you wish to receive, and I will set them aside pending arrival of your payment in the mail (don't send anything until the Canada Post strike ends).
This week’s prices and stocks remaining
These are the remaining books and grab what you want as you are able. These books are not going to be reprinted, and even print-on-demand is likely unfeasible given the quality I insist on for all of my publications. There will be one more price adjustment, next Sunday, December 29, 2024. Each of the publication titles is a clickable link, so for your convenience click on that link to go immediately to the page where you may place your order with a PayPal button:
